<div class="section1"><div class="Normal"><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">LUDHIANA: The police claimed to have arrested four gangsters including a proclaimed offender from near a residential colony on the city outskirts. Their fifth accomplice managed to escape.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">The accused have been identified as Mohinder Singh alias Bhupinder Singh, his two brothers Jagtar Singh alias Tari and Kirpal Singh alias Gabbar and one Harbans Singh.
Except Dalwinder Singh Chhina of Badal village, other accused hail from Kot Bhai village of Muktsar district. The police recovered a .12 bore and .315 bore rifles, two pistols and 11 live cartridges from them.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">SP (Detective)Gurpreet Singh Toor informed the accused were arrested from near Canal View colony on Bulara-Lohara link road on a secret information while they were planning to strike in the city. Their involvement in recent criminal incidents in the city would also be investigated, said Toor.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">Mohinder Singh has been identified as their ring leader who was declared proclaimed offender in a murder case in which he was accused of throwing the body of one of their accomplices into an irrigation canal after murdering him. A case under sections 302, 201 IPC and 24/54/59 Arms Act was registered against him at Sadar poloice station, Bhatinda last year.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">He started living at Shimlapuri area in the city under fake name of Bhupinder Singh for the last two months and was accused of luring away a married woman of the area. A case against him was registered at Shimlapuri police station for the offence. About 10 cases are pending against him.</span></div> </div>
